Miss Black and Gold Pageant

As a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. we had our annual Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant. We had a extremely large turnout, a lot more than what we expected. There were approximately 143 people in the Meyer Auditorium that night. We had 7 beautiful contestants that did an excellent job. Diamond Bridgeman, Diandria Walker, Courtney McIntyre, Darby Crenshaw, Da'Jon Tillis, and Cameasha Orange. The women did such a wonderful job it made it so difficult to determine to the judges who will become the winner. We took time out of our Pageant to announce our 2008-2009 Man and Woman of the year, Mr. Anthony Lewis and Mrs. Rosalind Lewis. When it came down to the judging section of the pageant we had the most difficult situation arise last night we had a tie between two of our contestants. We had to overcome a tie breaker so we asked one more oral formal question. We selected one judge to have the final decision who was well qualified to determine the final decision. The final decision came down to Miss Cameasha Orange as our new 2008-2009 Miss Black and Gold. We will be having Miss Cameasha Orange represent the Theta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. at our state convention in San Antonio, Texas. I am posting this post on December 4, 2008 and 102 years ago Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. was founded.
